The "La Florida" Organic farmers cooperative is located in the Chanchemayo region amidst the mountains of northwestern Peru. Grown between 4000 to 6000 feet is collective started in 1966 with only 50 persons and 10 farms now has 1500+ members and over 100 farms. "La Florida" is one of the leading examples of a successful model of positive community growth and social change. A washed Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) is a composite of Typica, Bourbon, Pache, and Caturra varieties the cup it produces is quite pronounced. Roasted to an XXDark profile it possesses a HUGE fat, almost mercuric rolling body, a solid burnt sugars edgy sweetness that lingers with a fragrant wood smoked softness. Bold aroma of caramel and tobacco flower with a muted acidity and pleasing tannic mouth feel roll this brew into a very well balanced character cup. ORGANIC
